Saturday Bell Project

Post by Oldsarge »

This is my latest bell.... Used a 300 CFM condemned cylinder. I cut the leafs on the bottom edge freehand with the hand torch on the 85, and scribed all the leaves by hand. The leafs on the top and 3/8" leaf hanger were all cut on the table, and I designed a new bell clapper mechanism that obviously is inside the bell... Instead of wagging the string left to right, you just pull down and the lever delivers a nice sharp clang! The "branches" were pieces I had left over from a forging session over at Plain 'Ol Bills shop, and blended together at low amps with fine cut consumables and low amperage....

The powdercoat turned out really good, and this one is off to the gallery tomorrow!

Cheers!

Mike
