First try airbrushing!

Post by Cracker Red »

Finally got the down-draft table working. Took the airbrush out of the box, cleaned it, and using Steel F/X dyes came up with these. Not to bad for a first try... The dyes have an iridescent look to them....can't photo graph the true depth they really give off after you spray 2k clear over them.

I can see I'm going to have to try out steel dyes and an airbrush! Nice work!

Which airbrush did you end up purchasing?

Not sure if you need THAT particular model, but it seemed to be the most bang for the buck.

Just reminded me...I need more patina stuff from SFX AND some clear....

What pressures were you using, I have not tried on metal yet since my experiment was on glass and was having a terrible time , was great for spider effects

30 psi on the regulator IIRC.

The bird sold for $75 today to the first person that looked at it. Pretty happy about that!
I gave the octo away at $50 cause I didn't want to haul it back home :)
