Marquette County Veterans Memorial

Post by eggauto »

This summer I had the honor of being asked to create the decorative railing around the top of the Veterans Memorial wall in my hometown of Montello Wisconsin. I was able to use files from here some with a little tweaking as each medallion measures 36 inches in diameter. I would like to thank the members here. Without reading the help you provide I would not have had the skills required to do this job. Here's to all the veterans past and present thank you for your sacrifices.

Very nice. That must have been an honor to be asked to do that.

Thanks everyone. It was a great honor as my Dad is a retired Navy man and he now has a brick on the wall with his name on it. I thought I'd share a few closeups of the medallions to show the details better. They are made from 10 gauge with the white backer made from 16 gauge.

Excellent work!
I'll have to take my bride up there to see it...I think we can brave the journey (Portage -> Montello). :)

Congrats, that turned out great, the quality of the cuts shows how well you have your table dialed in.
My Dad joined the Navy in 1942 at age 17 (With a note from his Mom) and I have to this day felt an affinity with the U.S. Navy.
