Staircase panels
Cut these out of 3/16 steel. Scrolls are from signtorch. I cut the panels .25 bigger than the openings, lined the hand rail and kneewall with 1 1/2x 3/8 strap and custom fit each one, tig welded the tacks, they are off to the powder coating shop now.

Re: Staircase panels
That is ranking in my top 5 best projects I have seen yet on here yet. Wood Stone and Steel go so damn great together in any combination and add so much elegance to a high end home. Hey, maybe I should change my handle to WSS nah...schidthead fits me better. Very nicely designed and tastefully executed! My compliments to all involved in that project! But, doesn't the tapestry on the wall make it a bit busy? Schidt! Now I sound like my wife!
Also, forgive me if I'm being balsy, I was wondering if I could have permission to use one of these pics as a project example. I'm not one to just take it without permission.

Re: Staircase panels
Beautiful work! That must have been a lot of "thinking" time before you even put a sheet on the table. The long insert looks like one piece, no splits or seams. NICE.
WSS? Could also stand for Warehouse shoe sale or World space station or.......
Cheers

Well executed, they look great!
Peechy, crossfab he said he got the files from signtorch, that means bought them I would think, not fair to ask to share in this case.

Re: Staircase panels
Please take this for what it is and only my opinion, as the work does look fantastic, and I bet the customer is thrilled with it and that is what matters.
But to my mind! I like the effect going up the stairs as the scrolls have a vertical element to them and it all seems balanced going up at the angle.
But the landing section to me does not, it may have meant another layout of the scrolls to keep them vertical, it could have given more height in doing that and the extra scroll work along the top may have not been needed, but it could have needed a bit more infill or detail within the landing to prevent large gaps.
Either way wish I could be as artistic.
