NE Texas Fabricator's ??

Post by Thumper »

I'm interested to see if anyone in the NE Texas / SE Oklahoma area would be interested in meeting up at each others shops occasionally to discuss recent builds, new product ideas etc. etc. Obviously not anyone right down the road from me but say an hour or two away so were not directly competing for the same business and talking shop sharing some ideas and building techniques or what has been selling and where. Maybe even have a group of guys meet up at someone's shop in a central location to talk shop... Now I know were not going to tell all of our big secrets  but really just getting together with like minded guys to chat with and maybe pick up some ideas from each other. This may sound crazy to some guys but I know from experience these type's of meeting's work to everyone's benefit and are a pretty neat thing to take part in..
It's a pretty cool deal if you have some equipment he doesn't and vise Aversa and the two or five or ten guys can basically join forces to help each other out benefiting all parties by doing stuff for each other that otherwise wouldn't have been possible... If you think about it this way alone its a good deal to take part in and 2 or 5 heads is always better than one!!!! Now having said that is anyone interested?

Or is their any interest in a group meeting up at a centrally located members shop say in the Dallas area? Or I will gladly open the doors to my brand new shop since it would be nice and cool in their :D " I love my ac" to meet up...
I'm all about helping/sharing/training or anything else I can do to help but I to like learning new tricks or ideas.. Sometimes we get set in our ways and simply overlook the obvious better ways to do things and we can always learn new tricks!!!!!!!!

Cool man...yea its kind of a hobby for me right now as well. I just tinker and build stuff and usually end up giving it away! I did however land a job building some camera shelfs that I am going to be able to profit about $2000! Im about 100 miles away from Mt Pleasent but would not mind if you ever wanted to come out to the shop and look and what I get into!!

I have a ArcLight Dynamics 5x10 with a Hypertherm 65. The customer service from ArcLight is amazing...you call and you talk to the "man". No press 1 for English shit like that, Scott is the owner and knows his stuff and will walk you through any problems. I have learned alot of Corel draw and just took a semester of Autocad. Now I just need the work!!

I am in Longview, Tx and I am running an Arclight table 5X10 with scribe and tubing cutter. Mostly hobby but I seem to make enough for it to pay for itself. I'm a full time nurse and part time scrap yard addict.
