Warner RapidTrak and Thermal Dynamics PAK-10 ???

Post by engatty »

Trying to build a very heavy plasma table capable of cutting 0-1" steel. Speed is not an issue.

I have two 8' stroke Warner RapidTrak linear actuators for the X and one 6' stroke actuator for the Y. These are ballscrew units. Here are the specifications:

.966 screw diameter
Lead .98425 (25mm)
Speed 5-49 inches per second = 300-2940 inches per minute
6' stroke critical speed = 900 rpm
8' stroke critical speed = 1100 rpm

Can I mate the above with available cnc plasma packages?? Actuators accept NEMA 56C motors.

Further I have a Thermal Dynamics Pak-10 machine (1983) that handles 1" readily. Can I make this work for a power supply??
