Downdraft extraction

Have any of you all seen a table with the fume extraction mounted under the table but hung off the gantry? There was a sheetmetal box that was attached to each side of the gantry with a 8" flexible hose attached. It was not a huge table either. Maybe a 5 X 10 foot work area. The box was maybe 20" wide and only about 12" deep. I did not see the table running so have no idea if it worked well or not but the surrounding area was quite clean.

Just wondering if anyone had seen one like this.
