Re: fire ball
How do you determine the diameters of these based on the size of the individual pieces?
What happened to the file for this fire pit??
My guess is that fraudster (my opinion only) Lizard King has managed to scare people into believing he owns the right to that file. Just a few days ago the moderators deleted a 6 page long thread on this. Lizard King started that thread and he came out shouting he has the copyright on putting ANY shape in that firepit, which I contested, as did many others.
That thread ended up having some fantastic info on copyright, but like I say the moderators appear to have deleted the entire thread, not just certain posts they deem unfit for the forum.
Personally I feel we've lost a fantastic example of how other plasma cutting guys can attempt to scam us, and we've lost some great info on copyright.
It's reasons like this I'm not a contributing member any more.
I bet this post gets deleted soon.

Well Beefy, I am going to have to agree with you. I do not understand why the Admin removes this information.beefy wrote:My guess is that fraudster (my opinion only) Lizard King has managed to scare people into believing he owns the right to that file. I feel let down as I thought it was a good learning tool as to what was posted.
I also agree that I am seriously reconsider my membership as well when it expires.
I learned a lot from these forums but can see it is not going to be easy or enjoyable to be here if one person can have his way.
Thanks Beefy for all your time here. Learned a lot from you and value your input. You told it straight.

Re: fire ball
Thanks for the support Gary, I was expecting a lot of members having a shot at me when I said that. Maybe it's still coming.
I feel these "moderators" don't do much moderating, unlike on many other forums where the members don't even pay any money. Here, when there's a disagreement, the thread gets deleted, it always seems to be this way. Let's pretend everyone is happy happy and censor the "bad" threads.
I looked at the membership figures the other day, took off a percentage, then multiplied it by $20 (membership to download dxfs that other members create). Put together with advertising income I wonder if this forum is a good money maker for the "moderators", and they just want to make it look all nice and rosy and keep the dollars rolling in. It really is a good business system. Members create the DXFs but they get no cash. Instead the forum gets it, got to give them credit for that thinking.
It's been a bit of a blessing for me. Had fisticuffs with a member here some time ago, and he suggested I spend more time in my workshop than on the forum "moaning". I thought I'm damn well going to take that advice and am better off for it.
Now I bet this one gets deleted

Re: fire ball
This is one I put together. Most images used came from this great gathering of plasma cutters(Plasmaspider) I added a 6" diameter stainless propane fire pit burner. Also has 2 panels that open so it can be used for propane or as a wood burning pit. Finished it with a couple of coats of 2000 deg. clearcoat so it won't rust. We have enough rust in Wisconsin.

I hate to hear that you're withdrawing from the site. As a new member, your information has been some of the most beneficial to me. I hate to think that such a useful source of guidance will go away, because someone else "peed in the pool", but that's certainly your choice to make. One bad apple to ruin the bushel, and all that.beefy wrote: Personally I feel we've lost a fantastic example of how other plasma cutting guys can attempt to scam us, and we've lost some great info on copyright.
