Horse head?

Post by gamble »

I had this file but lost it. Somewhere in the 900 page thread on cnc forum. Anyone else have this one?
And for some reason the search bar won't let you search the word horse.

Import Jpeg in to Inkscape enlarge it for better viewing. Click on path and then trace bitmap this brings up the trace menu. In the boxes marked colors and scans reduce to 2 and click on button colors then click on ok. You will see an image that is just basically 2 colors click on it and move it to the side and delete the original image. Close the trace menu. Click on the image to highlight it then in the lower left where it says fill stroke click on one of them. This brings up the fill and stroke menu now click on the X in the fill tab. The image will go away no problems click on the stroke paint and pick a color (black point on the wheel. Now click on the blue box next to the X in stroke paint you will see the image. Now click on the stroke style tab and click on the right top box and change to in for ? (or you could use mm) then change the width (I use 0.004) you should now see the outline of the image. Close the fill stroke menu and save the image as DXF (LWPOLYLINE type clicked) OK. :)

A very slight improvement on acourtjester's trace. Nodes reduced and lines joined. Should be ready to cut.
