Help Needed Please- Sandblasting Sign

Post by agteacher »

I could use a little help with a project. I teach welding in high school. I have had a torchmate for probably the last 5 years, still learning as I go. The gentleman before me built a 26' carhauler type gooseneck. I asked a company close to us over here how much he would charge us to sand blast it and paint it with epoxy paint like they use. He called me back a couple of days later and told me they had talked it over and wanted to do the work for free for us.

I thought it would be a nice gesture if my students and I came up with a sign that uses their logo. Then I saw the logo. It is pretty tricky, I may not be able to do it.

Could someone take a stab at converting over to where I could get started. Here is their website to get the image off of also. https://southernsandblasting.com/

thanks in advance!!

Here is a trace, it may help you get started. It needs a bunch of cleanup.

Hope that helps.

Hi Agteacher, I did up a file that will cut OK with hypertherm fine cut tips. I did not have the exact fonts so you get what you got. As you can see it would cut in two pieces. It will make a two layered final piece. The tabs on the circular piece would bend up and weld into solid areas of the other layer. This is easily seen on the overlaid drawings. There is a center point in the upper drawing so don't forget to remove it before converting to cut paths or you will have a pierce there. Hope your students have fun with this..........Russ K.
