I went and changed the original to remove the lead ins and reduce the nodes
found drawing had overlays that needed to be removed posted how I found them in the Inkscape category.

Here are 2 sets I cut they are the same size the camera angle makes them look different. I did 2 so I could see the effect different colors had on then. I used a dark blue and light tan funny the camera did not show that well.

When I made the one I used I was thinking shadow for dark on front piece and light on the back one, but after seeing yours I think the dark background looks better with lighter color up front .
