Me either - don't you just hate those proprietary file extensions. Primary reason I don't have a Plasmacam. But then everyone knows I'm just a cranky ol guy.

I tried to post the dxf but it's 1.5 MB. There are stray parts and pieces so I'm not sure what goes where.
What are the joints on these? They look like rollformer edges so maybe not many would have that?

The corners are really all you need to make any size box you like just build the lid first. Then build the main box, then fine tune the sides.

Oh and don't get the box wrapped around the break. Been there done that. Break the two main box lips at .5 then flip and break the opposite way on both sides then do the side, bottom and side. 22 bends total in this box style. Makes for a strong lid. You can do up to a 32" box on a Chinese 4' brake with .080 AL. Need bigger tools after that.

Here's a gun case as well. Same deal. Just cut the corners out, snap to grid and apply to your specific box size. The lid will grow about a quarter inch both directions so if you want 32" x 12" go 31 3/4x 11 3/4 on the lid.

Those are awesome! Thank you for sharing, but for us folk who use DXF files, is there a chance we can get a conversion?

Thank you!

I'm not that up to speed on file format changes. Hopefully someone who is more savvy than myself can help.

If you have advanced Design Edge you pick save as, then choose dxf. Remember file upload max here is 1mb. You may need to break it apart in a few files.

I tried with Corel Draw and Enroute, no luck. They don't recognize PCM.

No dice, don't get an option to save as dxf, pcm only. I'll add a smaller file with just the small box and maybe someone can help.

Here's that one in DXF. It was cut paths in PlasmaCam so I trimmed off the lead-ins and joined up the paths before saving as a DXF.

Lots of folks here need regular closed and open paths so they can process them in their machines or SheetCam. So if you do have Advanced Design it is always easier to choose Export under the file menu and then save your drawing as a DXF so that everyone can use it. Those of us with DesignEdge/PlasmaCam can easily import the DXF.

Thanks Robert,I'll try the export next time. I'm pretty new to the computer gig. Shortcuts are helping.

When you lay out the main box it's 10 7/16" from the end (the ends where you will bend the lip) to the bend that will be the bottom of the box. |_|

I always do the lid first. And don't over bend the second bend on the lip on the main box.

This size box will break easily on a 4' brake in .080.
