Nice Motorcyle with lots of detail

Post by FreeDXF.com »

Hello Everyone,

Wow, it has been a very long time since I have shared anything on this wonderful site. Here is a design that is probably one the more detailed and challenging designs I have completed in quite awhile. It's just what you were looking for if you have alot of free time for working on a project =). This Harley Davidson design was intended to be cut 7' long with a CNC plasma cutting system(can be cut smaller with other CNC cutting systems). If anyone cuts this one out please repost an image. Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Jason Henry

I wanted to try my new ball point pen holder. It took about an hour at 11 ipm. I forgot to clean off all the fingerprints first, that might've worked a little better.... That's a lot of cuts. The drawing itself is nice and clean but I'm slightly wondering if it can be cut, and will lay flat, and support itself. If so, it will be interesting to see...

I was wondering how large the design work was that was cut out? This image was intended to be cut 7' long if cut with a plasma cutting cnc system. The design work should stay intact as long as your cut width doesn't exceed .08". Heat build up may be problematic but can be reduced with a water tray. JH

it is worth noting there are some thin spots and if you shrink it to fit on a smaller table it might not be possible to cut smaller

Hi Jason, You are correct i scaled down size to a 4 ft table and was trying to cut with out with out reordering cut paths not thinking i did have heat warp problem. Going to adjust a few areas and go again your drawing is still awsome it would have cut perfect the first time if would have been thinking instead of rushing my fault Thanks for great file Mike F :D

I believe that this design would work the best if it were cut and fastened to a wall. Due to the numerous interior cuts the rigidity of such a large design piece would not be very suitable for producing a free standing piece of design work. In addition I believe the design work might also work well if hung from a ceiling (albeit a tall ceiling). This design work will definently flex if not supported adequately after being cut out as pointed out by Gary. When designing artwork I always try to pay close attention to how close my cut paths are to each other. Some areas of the design work you will find cut paths extremely close to each other and that is alright as long as that particular section is not critical for keeping the design work from falling apart. It is always a good practice to inspect the design work in it's entirety to look for areas that may cut out unexpectedly. If you do discover a section of design work that looks problematic you can isolate that particular section of design work and test the cut on a scrap piece of material. JH

Glad you all like the design work. Anyone have a picture they can share of how the design work cut out? I would be very interested to see how it all cuts out. JH
