Can someone open this file? Bear Face

Post by gamble »

I had a friend make this for me. I can't remember what software he uses but it will not import correctly to torchmate. I've had this issue with almost every file he has made me. I had a trial of turbocad, (not anymore) and literally just opened it and resaved it and then it worked.

If someone can open this and see if all the lines are connected and resave it and upload it so I can try it out, it's be greatly appreciated.

Joined all the paths, reduced the nodes, as a dxf.

Thank you guys SO much. I can't wait to try and cut this.
Larry, your file didn't work; it was still 272 pieces.
Shane, it's amazing. It was 6 pieces and I welded them together and have it all as one now.

I started working on this last year and after hours upon hours I just gave up. :o

Can you share with me how you did it and what software you used? I can't figure out if it's the software my friend (ex friend) used or just how he designs the files.

I just used design edge, which is the software that came with my table from Plasmacam. All I did was join all the broken path's and then group them all together, then export as a dxf. I am not sure what software you friend, or ex friend, or whatever was / is using, but when he is drawing he is not joining each path to the next when he starts another line. So you are ending up with something that has a ton of lines on it, but no closed path's. The ends of the path's were only a few thousandth's apart most of the time. Using snaps would fix that to some extent, as in snap to end of path when you start another one, then joining them would be easier and quicker.

As far as cutting it, I would give it a serious look, as it needs some work in my opinion not to be really floppy and not to have some possible edges burn through.
