Trial Cut Path

Post by tnbndr »

Sorry, did a search and found nothing, but probably using the wrong search words.
Is there a way to easily run the torch through the g-code generated without the torch firing? Just want to watch the cut path and moves.

TIA

I assume you have DTHC is so you can click off that function on the program page of Mach, but you may also need to short the ARC OK signal so it thinks the torch is on.

I am sure on the Arclight web site there is a video showing the set up and what to do if you want to "Dry Run" or "Trial Cut Path" of a file with out the torch firing,
In fact I am positive  there is a video of this on their site, might be of some help :?:

I often turn off the plasma cutter when I want to dry run a g-code file in Mach3. Sometimes you have to hit run after each touch-off, sometimes you have to hit the fire torch button after each touch-off.

It use to be real easy before I upgraded to the last Candcnc download. Plasma off, and hit run, then fire button . Now I have to flip the Arc good switch I put in to the system to get it to move. (Also plasma off.) Not a big deal, but it still will run though all it's code that way..The vid of the Arclight does not work the way mine does now..
