Hoping Les can help with this - I have installed a plate marker on my plasma table and would like the scriber to apply the offsets, turn on/extend in the beginning, do all marking and then turn off the scriber/retract, using Z axis moves to move between paths. I have been working with another poster on this forum (djreiswig), who has his set up this way. I think the scribing is more consistent without all the marker motion. His system is Mach based, mine is Linux. He sent me an edited version of the Commanc CNC Linux 24D post that almost works - the only issue is the plate marker turns on/extends before making the offset moves, which causes it to drag across the plate until it reaches the first path to scribe. Is there a way to fix this (i.e. - apply the offsets first)? All attempts to move the M7 command to after the marker offsets seem to result in code that doesn't run/CommandCNC doesn't recognize as executable code, even though it looks almost the same. I am able to manually move the M7 command in CommandCNC using the editor screen - just wish I could get it to post correctly without messing with it.
I'd attach the post files and example tap but the forum doesn't let post or tap files attach.

Re: Editing a Post
Hi Les, thanks for responding. I sent both the post that almost works right, along with a failed attempt. I sent the failed attempt more or less out of curiosity as to see why it fails - you can ignore it if you don't have time. I'm more interested in just getting the first one to work. I emailed it to the contact address on your Sheetcam website. If you have a different address you want me to send it to, please PM me with the address.
Thanks very much for your help and time.

Re: Editing a Post
Hi Les, were you able to make any headway with my post issue? Let me know if you need any additional information from me.
Thanks very much.
PS - will there be a linux version of scananything? Was going to add that capability until I upgraded my system and it looks like it only works for Mach at the present.

Re: Editing a Post
Is that the one called Eding CNC on the Sheetcam website? It doesn't say what operating system that is for.
Edit: Never mind, I found the correct link.

Re: Editing a Post
Sorry about that. Try this version. I can't guarantee I haven't broken something else. CandCNC posts are hard to work on. They are convoluted and over complicated.

Re: Editing a Post
Les, any idea on what I am doing wrong on this post. The code seems really close to what your post does. Just curious why it wouldn't work for him.
