Forced perspective

Post by Tmate »

It occurs to me that when you cut a shape like a car with a 3/4 view, it produces sort of a forced perspective, or 3D look. It seems to work with cars, maybe because in real life they have a somewhat rectangular footprint. Below is a car (Cobra) cutout viewed from the front and from above.

I imagine that if you were meticulous enough in planning a shape, you could cut one that was indiscernible from 3D when viewed from the front.
