Plasmacem Information

Post by Bonehead52 »

Hi all,
Wondering if there are any Gurus out there who would have any information on a "Plasmacem 33/1" old transformer based machine. Have managed to acquire one and can find no info online about it. 2 reasons looking for info
1) It needs consumables and can't find anywhere to source them without trial and error

2) Because i assume it is too old to find consumables i am wondering if it is possible to retrofit a new torch and lead. I assume i need to find out if is a HF start or pilot arc start so that the torch operates in the same way to the original.

Appreciate any info someone might have

I had the same questions as Joe so I looked it up and found this

I am sure you could get another torch to work on it, most difficult will be the air connection.
May be easiest to leave the torch and lead and just to get a newer torch head on there.
Interested to know if you have any luck with this.

Sorry. I would not spend time trying to set this up on a cnc plasma table. Yes, you MIGHT be able to get it working, but it would be a never ending struggle to find consumables, and you would have to money with it every time something went wrong. Use it as a handheld cutter if need be, but get something more mainstream for your table. PICK your battles. Sometimes things are "free" for a reason.
