The other two tables will become a test unit to make a folding 4x8 table. I want it to fold up like a ping pong table, that can be rolled to the corner of a shop when not needed.

Looks like I will be making a road trip very soon. There are two plasma tables and a 48X48 router table out there, calling my name :Wow

My Monthster is complete! :ugeek:

Eight shaft extensions will be added, along with the needed couplings to connect the mechanism together.

I will first set this up with only two motors, to see if they are strong enough to lift the table frame with the grates. If not, I will add in two more motors.

Now to go out to mount all of this onto the PlasmaCam table frame. BBwwwaaahaaahaahaaa!

Now I have to create mount plates that will bolt to the table frame's existing hardware, to support the four motors and four transmissions... Either that or I will drill the table frames directly. After all, the mount bolts are only #6 machine screws. I seriously DOUBT those small holes will affect the table's integrity.

Yes, it probably would void the sacred PlasmaCam warranty, even though the holes would not affect the table operation in ANY way. But I am sure PlasmaCam would deem those small mount holes to be horrific irreparable structural damage! Never mind the fact that they drill the SAME SIZE holes into the legs for the sheet metal shrouds.

The legs would need to be drilled anyway, so that the vertical gear racks could be properly mounted.

I am REALLY excited right now! I am picking up one 4x4 table, but it is a LONG road trip for one table. So I started browsing the government auctions ...

These machines are in the same general area as the first table, so I can pick them ALL up at once :HaHa

Well, I won 4 out of 5. I lost the last one because my #$%& mouse froze up at the end of bidding time! Oh well!

Still, a GREAT DAY all around! About $60K worth of machinery for less than $6,000.00

Edit: John Derby made a suggestion that I had not thought about. They had about a dozen of those dust collector things. I bought one for $55 but I should’ve bought all of them because they would make a fantastic base for the go torch machines. When I get there, I’m going to ask them how many more they have, and if I can buy them all at the same price

Just think about how easy it’s going to be to cut pipe! You lower the deck down, insert the two roller assemblies provided by Plasmacam, lay the pipe on top of the rollers, move the gantry so that the torch is centered over the pipe and lock the gantry into place. All that is necessary at that point is an additional gantry motor with a belt mounted off to one side to rotate the pipe.

I am going to see if I can convert that sander to single phase 240. If not, I will put a phase converter in my FrankenBarn to run the sander. I’m anxious to get it going because I have a huge pile of those red oak church benches that I want to process into products to sell. One of those 4 x 4 tables will become the base for the first conversion of the elevated grate deck project. The other two tables are DHC2 tables and I’m going to work at making them a folding 4 x 8 table that will fold up like a ping-pong table and roll into one corner of the shop out of the way when not needed.

When I get home with all of this equipment and unload it, I’m going to head out one more time because there is one more table that I have also purchased over near the East Coast that I have to go pick up.

'The Delta Sand trap machine will become an awesome base for a Go Torch. I wanted to buy more of them when I was out there but he said I would have to purchase them through a government auction so they would not give me more than the one I had won online. I will convert the one unit to a base for a go torch, and if it works out as well as I think it will, I may drive back to Reno and pick up 10 or 12 more of them.

I have a CNC router with my Samson 510 table. This will be an interesting alternative. Once I get it up and running, I will pick a few projects to do, and I will run them on both the PlasmaCam Table and on this CNC table, and then I will do a comparison to see if there’s actually any difference.

That's awesome, curious to see how the routing on the pcam goes, I am not convinced it will be a great routing table for anything more than odd light duty operation.

Slight change of plans, as I will run out to Southern CommieFornia tomorrow to pick up a Samson 510 table before returning to Kentucky. Now I will have one to experiment with the grate elevator on the 5x10 format too!

No more space on the trailer so we will disassemble this one and toss the parts into the truck bed for the ride home.🤪

Two more days until I get home again. Then I am off to the east coast for one more table 🤔

I have what I need now, to make a 4x4 with the elevator grates, and a 4x8 folding table, and a 5x10 version of each one as well 🤓

I may decide to sell all four of them after they are built because I really don’t need them. However, I do want to build them just for proof of concept, and I figure that somebody will be able to use them.
