Good day.

I have the following;

Thermal Dynamics 80XL plasma cutter w HF start
Myplasm controller with closed loop nema 23 hybrid stepper motors
Myplasm THC and Ohmic sensing controller
Older torchmate 4'x8' table

We have good control of the torch, currently we do not have errors here.
We are using a Hypertherm torch and we figured out the issue with striking an arc and air pressure.
So we have a good arc now, however we are getting the following errors;

1) We do not read a voltage at the torch.
2) With the collision proximity switches plugged in we get a collision error anytime the plasma starts.
a) We are using shielded cable to the collision switches, however we have not grounded either end of the shield.
b) We will be trying to ground one end of the shield and see if this helps. To the panel and not the table.
3) The ohmic sensing works well. However, this controller is mounted in the same panel as the main controller and we will be trying to relocate it.
into its own enclosure.
4) The monitor goes black when the plasma starts. If you move the mouse or touch the keyboard it comes back on.
It is mounted to the table and did not do this with the older torchmate controller.

If anyone has any information concerning the sensing of the arc voltage, or why my PC screen goes black when the plasma starts, or why my screen goes black, please share any information that you may have.

1) where did you make the connections in the machine to read the torch voltage?
2)does the hypertherm torch your using a blowback style to eliminate the HF?
4)sounds like you do in fact have a HF issue since your monitor is blacking out

I think your biggest issue if HF. What Hypertherm torch are you using?
