Maybe it is in the other thread, but what did you use for the digital display?

Great shop built roller there. I myself currently got the materials for a build, but I really like that digital readout for pressure. Do you have a link for that purchase?

Hey guys, sorry for the delay.... I used a product called igauging. Here's a link to their page: http://www.igaging.com/page18.html
As usual, you can find these all over Epay and Amazon and they are very reasonably priced..... A lot of folks are using these as low cost alternatives for DROs on various machines. I ordered a 3 pack that included a 6, 12 and 36" set, and I think it was like $120 for all 3. I also like their digital calipers a lot more than the HF ones.... they used to be fairly ok, but recently they have cheapened them up even more, and the igauging ones are a lot nicer for not too much more.
I drew up a mounting tab for the 36" and it mounts to an old hypertherm retaining ring on my torch , and I used it to do my motor tuning on my x and y axis. My table is way more accurate than it's ever been, I got it down to .003 over a 32" travel with this setup!
Just bend the mount into a "z" shape..... I used rare earth magnets to hold it down on a fresh sheet of 14 gauge and clamp it on the edge of the sheet on one end to create sort of a pivot point, then run the gantry down and back one or two times, and this "squares" the gauge to the axis travel. Then it's just a matter of zeroing the display, and do your calibration in Mach or whatever, and note the travel and input your corrections. The really cool thing is that after you input your corrections, you can simply zero the display and run another calibration in the opposite direction using negative values for travel distance. By the third pass I got to within .003 on the y and .001 on the x!
Hope this helps some of you guys.... After I finished my tuning, I cut some circles and squares for references, and they were dead on!
Here's the mounting tab if you're interested:
I sold my first one with the digital readout and the adapter for the HF threader for $600 which in my market is a really good price. I don't sell the threader, I just refer folks to HF with a 20% off coupon.
I'm working on my 3rd roller now, and I replaced the bottom weld in plate with a series of DOM tube spacers to assemble the frame halves. I use 6 1/2 long 1/2-13 bolts to bolt the halves together, and it draws up perfectly square and plumb when it's sitting on my table!
Ed, I posted the files for cutting this, if you need help just PM me.....
