Corner welding clamps

Post by cbassjr »

I know most of you may already have made your own but I designed a set of heavy duty welding corner clamps. If interested I'll post the dxf. They will go up to 6" square tubing or around 4" pipe. Let me know if you want the dxf. This size clamp retails on the net for around $400 each. Requires a little welding and some angle iron, all thread and a couple of nuts but they work great for doors and gates. They have saved us hours in fan time.

Looks like there's interest I'll try to post Sat or Sun as I'm headed to a trade show and my notebook is packed. If I have internet access at the show I'll post be then. Thanks for then interest. It is pretty straight forward to cut the angle iron and weld up. If after you download anyone with questions is welcome to ask for instructions. The biggest thing is after you weld and grind down the base I used that to square up the clamping base to square up and weld on the upper clamp angle iron I can't remember if the slot is 1/2" or 5/8" I think it's 1/2" you need to be sure the slot bolt it in before you weld up the smaller angle iron. The back brace where the t-handle has the weld on nut and the clamping end has a nut on one side of the plate and one on the other side so it turns freely. I hope this will help everyone.
