I have done a few logos for clients, and I've found that the easiest way to get an accurate cut is to see if they can provide the artwork or svg file that they paid the sign shop or printer to develop.

In most cases, they will be very cooperative.

You could explain to them that with the art work from their printer you could get the job done FASTER and they would have a sign on the building several days sooner. :D :D
