Those are fantastic! Nice job.

Do you mind sharing what the surface and prep is?

Thanks.

Those look great! Do you make the disc and base or do you buy those?

I make the discs by cutting them from 20 ga and prep with 3M scotch brite sanding pads. Then prime with black primer , after I do the engraving I shoot them with clear.

I would say you have the process well dialed in, thanks of posting. What software are you using to develop your work??

Sounds like a simple process and looks great. I see a lot of unique things being done with those scribes.

I assume you cut the disc out . Clean the disc up . Paint it . Clamp the disc down , engrave it .
I'd be interested on how you line the disc back up and clamp down to engrave . Pics of the process would help . Thanks

I think if depends on the particular table/controller setup. On my Avid/Mach3 table, I would clamp the disc down, move the spindle/engraver so that it is centered on the disc, and then zero out my x and y. This assumes that when I drew it I had zero, zero at the center of the part. So just align the engraver tip to the original origin of the part, then zero out the x and y. Of course, it's always best to do a "dry run" just to make sure.
