Company Logo Import

Post by HCmillertech »

So I have a question. I have several companies that have colored logos and would like a sign made. What is the best way to get them into Inkscape?
I have tried a couple ways but it seems to mess up the font or something else.

Attached is an example, on this one the bottom text is messed up.

Thanks

I am guessing your doing and auto trace and from what I can see it looks like you are doing everything correctly. The bottom text is very small and an auto trace will never deliver you clean crisp lines when the image or small or resolution is low. In this case the best bet may be to delete the traced text and replace it with the text tool in Inkscape and find a font that is the same or similar. Let us know what you end up doing.

ask them for the original logo design as a starting point, sometimes they are designed in a vector file format to start with, but they ignore that and just use the jpg for their website and stationary but the vector files are key for easy conversation and lossless conversation.....

See if this works for you.
I found their logo and used that to trace.
The smaller font I used text and used Helvetica font.
The ellipses I manually made with ellipse tool.
