Hanging flower basket brackets/hangers

Postby pr connection » Fri May 11, 2012 8:00 pm

Hey fellows

I am new to the site and also new to cnc plasma. I just set up my new table and would love to cut out some bracket/hanger to hold some hanging flower baskets. I did a search but no luck. Does anyone have something drawn up they could share to give me some ideas or inspiration. These hangers will be screwed to my 6x6 deck posts

Thanks

Dan

Attached is a plant hanger that I use myself. I have included both plasmacam file and also the dxf. I designed the hanger and they are cut from 14 gauge. You can bend the arms to whatever angle you want. You can bend them so you have two plant hangers or you can fold both arms until they meet and make it one heavy duty hanger. I have hung some very heavy planters on these and they work great.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Thanks for all the designs! Very cool. Here's one I designed with eliminating rust in mind. If you have ever purchased a shepherd's hook or something similar you have found that they will rust eventually where the planter hangs even though they are powder coated. All the swinging back and forth will wear thru the paint. I designed these with a radius the same size as a stainless steel washer and then welded the washer in. The washers I used measure about .700" ID and about 1.75" OD and are .12" thick. I made these brackets out of .125" hot rolled but I think 12 gage would work fine. They'll never rust where the planter hangs.
