Hi everyone
Has anybody used or come across this product?
PCL Dropout compressed air point-of-use water separator
the spec for this item can be seen here:http://www.pclairtechnology.com/product ... r/pdo600a/
Just asking or does it seem to good to be true, I would think seeing its under the "PCL" Trade mark it should have some legs
curious how one of these would compare to the std Refrigerant dryer or Desiccant air filters

Re: refrigerant dryer Vs seperator
Their video looks good but I would like to see some independent testing results. If it works as good as their video suggest I want one or maybe two. Will do a little research on this tonight when I get in.

Re: refrigerant dryer Vs seperator
Hi Dennis
that's about $325 but the pound at the moment is low when exchanging currencies
But going £ for £ over here its lot cheaper than a Refrigerant dryer of equivalent volume capacity
But its only any good if its any good if you know what I mean, hence the initial question
If it is as good as the blurb then you have to consider no running / maintenance cost, no consumable costs, less space and hopefully dry air
Hopefully someone will post a review or their experience of this sort of kit and if it actually does what it says on the box

Re: refrigerant dryer Vs seperator
Hopefully someone will post. Have you contacted the company to see if it is meant to be used in a Plasma cutter application? It may not be able to keep up with dry air requirement in that application. But its only any good if its any good if you know what I mean

Re: refrigerant dryer Vs seperator
Hi Dennis
Spoke to PCL directly today and they advised that their PD0200A will do the job based on the spec's for the Hypertherm PM45 or belt and bracers the next size up PD0600A would be overkill
They stand by there claim it will remove 99.999% liquid water removal, Particulate removal to 1 micron Guaranteed
not sure about water vapour couldn't get a simple answer for that just to 99.999% comment
PD0200A:
Optimum Flow Rate 150 l/min / 5.3 cfm
Maximum Flow Rate 250 l/min / 8.8 cfm
Maximum Inlet Pressure 15 bar
Working Pressure 1-15 bar
Pressure Drop 0.38 bar
PM45:
Recommended gas inlet flow rate / pressure
Cutting: 360 scfh; 6 cfm (170 l/min) @ 80 psi (5.5 bar)
Gouging: 360 scfh; 6 cfm (170 l/min) @ 60 psi (4.1 bar)
Price in the UK for the PD0200A is £164.34 (inc VAT)= about $217.608 (USD)
Just need someone to post a response to have having used one

Re: refrigerant dryer Vs seperator
My concern would be water vapor vs liquid water. The PCL folks seem to list "liquid water" very specifically.
