MiniTHC lost signals?

Post by Mr.Hotwire »

I'm using a MiniTHC with my UCCNC AXBB. When I utilise the MiniTHC Test Outputs screen, the THC Up, THC DN, ArcOK lights in the UCCNC Diagnostics all work as they should. When I switch to Torch On test there is no feed back on UCCNC. But the display of the MiniTHV shows the Lighting bolt, and the up and down arrows for about 1.5 seconds. Then I get the dotted circle and the torch goes out.

Bad signals to the UCCNC?

there is a difference in weather you are just installing the unit or it shopped working while using it. If you have not finished the install then it could be missing wiring or signal not selected correctly. If it died after using it for a time may point to a failed unit. there are some here that use that unit that may offer more info to help.

The unit is new, and it's fully installed according to the manual.

It's a bad video, but I show the signals working without the arc, then when I turn on the arc there is no signals from the THC.

Ok you are running UCCNC electronics and software with 3 ports for communications. Are you sure the plasma signals are hook to the correct port so the software can see them. I am using there 400TH board with only 1 input port (BOB board) with a Price THC.

Im using an AXBB-E, I have 3 ports. Port3 is a LPT port header. I have a cable that goes directly to the MiniTHC LPT board. All of the interfaced pins match those in the MiniTHC Manual.

Have you posted and questions to the UCCNC forum to be sure there is not a setting you need. I know and there has been posts here with similar problems with Mach and Proma THC units. You have 2 components hardware and software, I had some problems with the install of the software for the UCCNC I am using. The UCCNC forum pointed me to where some things that needed to be changed.

Update to this, I believe that it is a factor of interference. I need to figure out if its a ground issue or ingress via the wiring harness.
