Value of used Miller Spectrum 2050?

Post by motoguy »

Now that I have the PM85 with my table, I don't really have a need for the old Miller. As such, I think I'm going to sell it. However, I'm having a hard time finding a price for this older unit (and I haven't dealt with welding/plasma equipment enough to have an "off the cuff" idea). I've found this:

Which I believe is in $ Canadian (approx $1600 USD), and this:

http://www.lostcreekmachine.com/welders.htm

For $1200.

For those of you more in the know, do those prices sound about right? My unit is pretty dirty/dusty right now, but works great and comes with extra consumables. I'd like to put it on Craigslist to sell locally (too heavy to want to mess with shipping), but I want to determine a fair market value price, first.

Thanks!

I would also look at what the price of a new equivalent unit is! You can't ask more for a used unit if a person can go purchase a brand new one, under warranty for less or equal or even a small output of more $$$.

seen two working ones go for 1,000 at auction last week in northern California, it was a well attended auction.
