Re: Couple more layered signs
Very good looking signs . . .
Really like the one for the firemen.
Could you or some of the others share how the layers are connected.

Re: Couple more layered signs
So here you can see the blank sign. Each top parts has a 1/4 stud welded into the hole and ground smooth. Then all these top layers are bolted to the backing plate with nylock nuts.. Allows anyone to take the sign apart and refinish it as needed... lots of work on the ilwu sign...

Re: Couple more layered signs
they just have alignment holes and are stacked between the top layer and the backing plate

Re: Couple more layered signs
I take it that you mark all your holes somehow with the plasma & then drill them.
Is that correct.

I recently got into the Longshore as a casual. That is a beautiful piece. Any chance you would share that ILWU? I'm willing to pay if needed. Thanks.

Re: Couple more layered signs
I actually did these for my local's union hall. We redid the exterior of our building, and I did this and a couple other signs at their request, for cost of materials. The union does own the logo, so even if I hadn't lost the file in a hard drive crash I wouldn't be inclined to distribute or sell the actual logo. Another point is that, at this time the logo is not the current one as the panama sector is no longer.
