Classy Address Sign

Post by dgeorgester »

I built this today. Turned out better than I expected. Hopefully I can sell a few as Xmas gifts maybe?

Nice, how are the letters mounted to the back?
I think I'm the oldest 10 year old boy on the forum...

When I designed it, I included little holes on the backplate.
The letters had 2 or 3 little short stubs welded behind. The stubs would line up with the holes in the backplate. I left unpainted areas near those holes and then just did a little spot weld from behind.

I wouldn't do it this way again, because I had to mask the letters to finish the black paint on the back plate.

Next time I might just drill little holes in the stubs and try a rivet through the back plate

That's what I was really shooting for. The art deco scene from the 20s and 30s really had an interesting style.
