A few more pictures guys. Just waiting for a tray to get made and some other covers before putting the electronic parts in the right place under the table. Will also tidy and cable tie the cords etc to make it neat.

Cheers guys again for all your comments.

It is a nice looking table, but those solid sides would drive me insane. I cannot understand why you raised the sides, rather than giving the gantry LEGS to roll along the edge of the main table. I also hope you are going to move (or shield) the plasma machine and the power strip from the shower of molten metal that rains down from the torch :-o

To each, his own. I hope you make tons of money with it!

Joe...as I said in this post I am waiting for a tray and covers to get made. I will be covering the electronic parts of the machine as I have with ALL my previous builds. I wouldn't have done the effort and time spent for nothing.

Also I have explained why I went with the high sides. For me it is a time thing. I will now be able to load full sheets and cut into sections with only 300mm sticking out each end. There is plenty of room to access to my table and protected from sparks. It does work for me.

ps I will posting 1 more set of pics when it is altogether to show you how it works. I have also got work for it for the next 2 months. I secured this before I started building it.

Thanks for your comments weldguy. It has been a short and very quick build. Sure is good to have it where it is at the moment. I will be cutting work on Tuesday arvo.

I am curious, since you designed and built the table yourself ... why didn't you just make it long enough to handle a 10 foot sheet of material?

I have room in my shop for a 4 x 4 table. This is as big as I can go. The table frame measurements is 1850mm x 1700mm. The safe cutting area 1350mm x 1400mm. I can only fit a 8 x 4 sheet with a foot sticking out each end.

Final pics and post. Table completed all bar some minor painting.

Cover and tray in place to protect electronic parts. This is how it has been done in the past.

Thanks again to all who have commented on my build.

The next phase of my table build will be to redo and fit rotary axis...similarly to the 1 in the very first post with my first table.
