New signs for local handgun range

I made these today to put up at our local handgun range ….

Those look good, but be careful about reproducing Trademark logos for profit without the written permission of the company that owns the logo. I do not know how protective the GLOCK, and SIG, and Smith & Wesson companies are about their logos. Other companies like Ford and Chevy don't seem too concerned about the small guy who sells signs at a swap meet, for example.

The best example is those people who crank out Harley-Davidson metal art and try to sell it at Sturgis, and Americade, and other rallies. Harley PAYS their attorneys to attend and wander these shows to find people who are reproducing the HD Shield or any other Harley art that has a Trademark, in metal art, or clothing, or whatever. The attorneys promptly serve the seller with a Cease and Desist order, they TAKE anything that bears the HD logo, and a $10,000.00 lawsuit will follow a day or so later. Harley is ruthless about protecting their brand.

I did not say he sold them. I warned him against selling them.

Yeah, and he probably shouldn't hang them upside down. That would look weird.

Ok guys , I cut them from scrap and did not sell them , just a donation for decoration for our weekly 6 person action pistol match , not for profit. It’s a private range.

I don't care one way or the other if someone cuts them or not. It is an issue between the copyright or trademark owner and the person who violates that copyright or trademark. But, it seems people have the misconception that if they don't sell or profit from the item it is okay. In most cases it is a violation to reproduce in any form whether you sell it or not.

That is correct. But most people do not possess that level of personal accountability.
