Few things I have Made over the years.
Some things I have made over the past few years.
Most of my work I put on Instagram End_Iron_ is my handle. Enjoy.
I like making stump buckets the most.

That fixture table looks amazing!!! Would love to get my machine cutting that thick of a plate without destroying the plasma cutter tips. I attempted several circles as tests, but the height control on this old machine can't keep up (or I don't know the correct settings most likely)

You show lots of very creative work! Thanks for posting your photos. I once was thinking about making a fixturing table, but ended up getting a good deal on a pair of Rhino Carts with tooling. These are 30" x 40" tables with a grid of 5/8" holes into a 5/8" thick top plate. They roll around and can be joined together to create a larger work surface when needed.

Re: Few things I have Made over the years.
Many of the fixture table builds I have seen have used magnetic drill presses to drill the grid of holes. If I had to do it, that's probably the route I would take. But I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a fixture table that Tom built where he cnc plasma cut the grid of holes and it worked very well.Williamshpc wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 8:59 am That fixture table looks amazing!!! Re: Few things I have Made over the years.
Oh that took some serious time. Its 3/8 plate and most of the time I cut 3/8 and above. I literally took a scrap 3/8 and just made a variation of holes and took a 5/8 bar stock as a testing piece. I bet you I punched 20 trying to make it "right" on the money.Williamshpc wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 8:59 am That fixture table looks amazing!!! That is boss. I want to get a 5x10 fixture table still that is blanched and perfect basically. I reached out to Kovosu and will buy one of theirs once I get some money in on the business. Really REALLY nice tables.

You can go into sheet cam and have it peck the grid with a plasma cutter to get the 2x2 spacing perfectly done and just mag it so you wont have to measure anything goofy.adbuch wrote: Fri Sep 15, 2023 3:21 amMany of the fixture table builds I have seen have used magnetic drill presses to drill the grid of holes. Re: Few things I have Made over the years.
I cut those out of 3/8 A572. I weld them with my ProPulse 300 with .045 Eutectic Dual Shield on 75/25 gas. I buy the backing plate and the teeth everything else I cut it and weld it up. PM me directly if you are interested in the files. I have a smaller one and a larger one. I made them in Fusion360. Id like to trade some files. Specifically looking for a root rake....which I can make but if someone has it handy thats always nice as well.cutnweld wrote: Fri Sep 15, 2023 3:57 pm I like the stump buckets, what thickness of steel do you use for them? Re: Few things I have Made over the years.
How about making the holes slots instead ?
Might take some pressure off of making "perfect" holes, and offer adjustability as well.

Re: Few things I have Made over the years.
The slots would be fine if one were to use under table fastening claps (wingnut type etc). Which can be a pain. Most guys like the drop in style clamps that tighten up with only a round hole, as it wedges against the sides of the hole at any direction as it tightens. a slot would not work when the clamp is lined up parallel to a slot since the drop in pin would not have anything to wedge against. but would clamp 90 degrees the other direction. Slots would likely become a real PITR (pain in the rear) lol!! I would go with round holes. also laser vs mag Drill. Evolution makes a good and vey reasonably priced mag drill . And once it is bought it was always be around the shop vs. hiring out laser cut round holes. It might be about a wash on price, but the reward for DIY, is the drill.
