The old saying 2 heads are better than one, You may need to talk to someone. Many time we miss things and talking with another helps. Since you have connection with your church, talk to the Padre. Many time the answer is right in front of us and we miss it. I took me a long time to get my buddy to retire, he thought he could not afford it, we talked and I showed him he could do it, so he did. No man is an island reach out someone will get your fire going, life can be fun if you allow it to be. You have the tools now use them, make some gifts seeing another smile when you give them away does wonders.

We live in a fallen world. There are a lot of genuinely good people out there, but also a lot of rotten ones. Seek out the good ones.
You have a lot of talent, Joe. Don't let it go to waste. Don't let the enemy win by laying down and giving up. Get out there and show him who's boss.

I drove to Bowling Green today, 60 miles round trip. I was going to stop at the Lowes and Home Depot up there to buy a router bit I need to carve the tombstones. I thought, "Nah! My local LOWES in Franklin will have it!" No joy. :Sad Now I am debating the drive again (3 gallons of gas :Wow ) or ordering it online and having it show up in my mailbox.

The first one I will carve is the crying angel, 42" tall and 4" thick. (1" relief)

Give them a call and if they have what you need, I'd go get it. Sounds like a nice relaxing drive. And then you will be able to get started on your project right away.

X-Tool sells a three stage Cotton/HEPA/Charcoal air filter for their laser machine for $800.00. I carefully watched their video with the cute Japanese girl selling the product. Then I went to Amazon, and found the exact same filter under a different name for $439.00

I ordered the filter, and one additional set of the filter elements. I figure that by the time I exhaust two full sets, I will either move up to a bigger laser, or die. Either way, two sets will probably cover me for a year or two.

I would like it to be self-contained, via deep cycle batteries and a power inverter, but that may be asking too much. A 20 Watt laser, a laptop, and an air filter that kicks on only while cutting, LED work lights? A radio for tunes .... What say you?

When the machine arrives, I am going to design an enclosure for it that is portable. Wood? Or metal?

Lots of work ahead!

Joe

Joe you need to let the knife go, that is in the past, and does nothing for you now. My cousin would say "nil carborundum Illegitimi mean " its Latin look it up. :Yay
Then one of life's bitter lessons reared its ugly head in 2019, and I learned about what happens when you TRUST people. :-x I was able to remove that massive knife from my back, but then I let the booths suffer and they all eventually closed. I sold the store at the start of the NWO B.S. covid agenda, and now I am not really motivated to do much of anything.

and read this from the web. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/am-aller ... inod-kumar will help with you funky feelings. :Like

Joe I think you should take one of your projects a make a extra effort to finish (like the laser stand or powder coating oven). Having many unfinished project in the shop can be depressing, Seeing yourself moving a project to completion and operational can be uplifting. Great time to pat yourself on the back getting some positive vibes is uplifting. Post you progress as that will add a visual record for you to see and share. Like taking a victory lap after winning. :Love :Yay We will be pulling for you too. :Like

I agree with you. I am focusing on the powder coat oven, the laser enclosure, and the Christmas crafts for a November (?) craft show.

Has nothing to do with how many stars i have, couldn’t care less. Not sure why felt the need to post that comment unless im taking it the wrong way.

Joe I did a littler fun playing in the shop today with my laser. I watched a video on YouTube where a guy etched a glass tile, so after a trip to Lowe's and a little Inkscape work here is what I did. This is about a 4" X 8" glass subway type tile with a white backing, My laser is not a powerful as your so it took about 3 hours. It cleans off the back to a clear and frosty look, I think it could be sprayed with a color on the back or backlighted to give it more flare. :HaHa

I learned my first lesson today. Do not cut Luxury Vinyl Floor tile without ventilation. The air filter machine arrived this afternoon, AFTER I did the first experiment... INDOORS. Now my house smells like teenagers have been doing burnouts in my living room!

I am going to place a new can of FeBreeze in the center of the HVAC intake, and just shoot a hole through it with a B.B. gun!

Tell me how you etched the glass. Did you paint one side of it black, or ???

This glass time is ready to use from the store just flip the design item to be etched in the software and focus on the top of the backside. I used 100% power and 150 ipm, you will need to drop power with your setup, not sure if you have the dual or quad diode module. I have both a single (used on this project) and a dual diode for my CNC table.

That's awesome AC! So I am guessing you painted the entire backside and the laser blasted everything but the text area which remained black?

Not bold. FOOLISH! I remembered your warning AFTER the house smelled like the Irwindale Race Track!

"Hmm ... This isn't a vinyl LP... this is a floor tile, it should be safe!" THEN I remembered that it is called Luxury VINYL tile. :Sad
