TIG torch boom for welding cart

Post by TJS »

Needed to be able to get my tig cables off the ground and be able to swing it where I need it. Made this boom up.
Used some delrin for the washer/bushing. Maybe I will paint my cart this time, however I usually never paint my stuff cause I am always modifying it anyway.

Good idea there, I'm the same with cables trailing on the floor right across my entrance door as well, might just look into that.

Pretty awesome setup! I need to make me one of these for sure. I assume your boom is mounted on your tig cart? Mine would need to be as I move it around the shop from time to time. Is there any issues with the weight trying to tip the cart?

Yes welded to the tig cart. Third video shows this. No issues. I have a tig cooler mounted low and a Dynasty 300DX machine so it is heavy enough.
