Do you want to cut out metal shapes (art or parts) by hand? Or are you wanting to drift into the mad, mad, mad, mad world of CNC plasma cutting?

New Mexico is a BIG state. Can you be more specific? The city or town? Not your address, but perhaps "Near ...." would help!

Jens and his new wife Carrie are in New Mexico as well. Rio Rancho area, I believe, but I may have their OLD address in my phone. A really NICE guy who is pretty good with the PlasmaCam table and software. I am anxious to ride out to visit him. He just built a new shop about a hundred times BIGGER than the little one-car garage he was working out of. :HaHa

Which model? The DHC? The 98Z? The one that is run by a woodpecker on a treadmill?

What software are you running? Silly me, I always ASSUME people are using a PlasmaCam table ... because that is always the best choice of course! (ducking my head to avoid flying drops ... )

Does your table have the older ROUND Z motor, or the newer SQUARE Z motor?

Post some photos of the stuff you do, so we can get some idea of whether you are making spice racks and wall clocks, or bridges and bulldozers!

Are you using the old PlasmaCAM 3.11 software, or are you using some version of DesignEdge?

Is this YOUR business, or (not trying to sound like a chauvinist here ...) do you and your husband work together on things?

Come on, Tina! We need DETAILS!

The time it takes dealing with some people and custom art. They want you to spend 4 hrs or more on a $50 piece of art.

Ahhh! Yes! I understand now.

When I set my store up in town, I set up a 55" LED TV Screen and three comfortable chairs. When a customer would come in for a sign, I would ask them to take a seat. I would design the sign live, while they monitored it on the big TV. We would make the changes, and then I would flip the screen colors to present the design in black and white. I created a TV screen scale, so the sign would appear on the screen at the exact size it would be cut. They could walk up to the screen and examine it closely... address signs, clock faces, etc. Anything that would fit entirely on the 55" monitor was "shown actual size"

"Is this what you want?" They would say "Yes!" and I would save the file, and PRINT a copy of the image. Then when they came in for the sign, if they thought it might be different, I show them that the machine cut EXACTLY what they approved.

Tina - How old is your Plasmacam table? Perhaps a DHC version running pre-Design Edge software? Do you have any specific questions about using your table or programs? My Plasmacam tables are of the newer DHC2 variety running the newer Plasmacam Design Edge software. But there are still quite a few folks out there using the older versions as well.
