Is this Fab-cut in Canada? I believe Renee Barnes is their main guy to talk to, I'm just curious because I'm also on the hunt for another table. From what I've researched and heard they seem to have quite a good system.

I'm into a little bit of everything, fixing and repairing, a little stainless work, my biggest gig is building screwpiles.

Welcome plasmalady! Hope you are able to get the machine and that it works out well.

I also wondered what a screwpile was David.

Thanks Plasmanewbie! I guess I was too lazy to let Google be my friend. But that explains it quite well.

Jason - thanks for those photos! Very impressive work. What sort of big machine is required to install these? And is this something you do as well, or are these for customers?
Thanks,

David

We install these as well... we also build some for customers. here's a link that will explain the process better than I can, thanks for the compliment.

Good question: Cold rolled does not have the thin slag coating while hot rolled requires more prep is some situations prior to paint or staining etc where as cold rolled has been coated with oils so you get dirtier handling it and it will rust faster out in the elements where as Hot Rolled can sit in the rain and weather with less rust/surface deteriation. I believe cold rolled is more expensive. Think it mostly boils down to what kind of finish the end result required. Anything I am missing here guys?

I would say it's probably 50/50 or so. Many use hot rolled to save some money. My local supplier usually has them priced about the same, and sometimes cr is actually less expensive than hr. I suppose it just depends on your suppliers.
