Ask question about thing you will need to know to get started, many CFPRO types here so they can give answers as to what to expect. Download some files from here or draw up some simple ones so you understand the progression of activities for Plasma cutting. Pick up some metal, either new or scrapes to play with, watch YouTube videos. There will be requests from friends, lots of neat wall hangers here. Ben De Lappe just posted a new set of files that are very nice. Get a head start on Christmas gifts. :Like :Yay

What cad/cam software are you learning to use? Many of the Langmuir users like the Fusion 360 package. Inkscape/Sheetcam is also a very popular combination. As you are probably aware, the Langmuir site has some excellent Fusion 360 tutorials. If you are just learning - you might try mounting a sharpie pen in place of your torch - so you are drawing your shapes instead of cutting them. This is a good way to learn the programming and practice without wasting expensive metal while you learn. I did the same thing when I was learning my Plasmacam system early on. There are plenty of files available here for you to download and practice with, as well as learning how to create your own. Ask if you have questions or need help and we will try to accommodate you.

Here is a thread about pen holders. Tom has a very nice, easy to make design to use a ball point pen in place of the torch. This same concept could be used to mount a Sharpie as well. It seems to me I saw a thread not too long ago where Tom showed a spring loaded 3D printed pen mount. I think it was blue. But I can't seem to find it just now.

Here are images of updated versions of the ink pen holder, 2 types of mounts. One for machine torch mount the other for a flat mounting on the Z axis assembly.

Very nice! Do you have a link to the thread where you were originally talking about these?
Thanks,

Yes sir there are few for the different 3-D printed parts I have done. The first shows a Drag Knife using a utility blade for thicker cutting of paper like items, fits a 1/4" router collet.
