USB mach 3 breakout board help

Post by kennyt716 »

I've been trying like the devil to set up limit ,homing switches through mach3 with no success. The board is a sainsmart 4 axis usb. In ports and pins I tick the input port and assign port 2, assign pin 10 for ++ and 11 for -- , the proximity switch led comes on the sensor when approaching metal but not lighting up mach 3 diagnostic screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have use 2 different USB BOB boards, what I found was they require 2 separate power source. The USB supplies a +5 volt source the powered the signals for the motor outputs but for the home/limit inputs to work another wither 12 or 24 volts source was needed. here is a wiring diagram for the BOB I used I am not saying it is the exact one you have but similar. I did not use proximity switches.

You need to be sure the USB BOB is enabled in the configure plugin menu.
