Solid Edge - how to save as dxf

Question for any of you Solid Edge users. I just downloaded Solid Edge 2022, and it looks much like Fusion 360.

My question is: How are you saving your sketch to dxf format for import to your Sheetcam or other CAM software?

I am looking for a step-by-step description of your procedure.

One other question - how do I turn off snaps? I researched this on-line and could not find the answer.

I am attempting to add "stencil effect" to some letters and it is not letting me place my lines exactly where I want. It keep snapping to nodes that are not located where I need the lines to start or end.

Have you tried to draw the rectangle bigger than the area top and bottom and then use the trim tool to remove the areas you dont want to keep?

I don't use inkscape, but that's how I do it. Draw a rectangle taller than the width of the part of the letter and as wide as I want the tab, then drag it where I want it and trim the extra lines.

Yes - I have tried that. I'm not sure how to rotate the rectangle to align with the letter I am trying to stencil.

I was asking about Solid Edge. Here is how I do it with Inkscape.

I normally use Design Edge, and do it with drawing lines and trimming.

And here is the Fusion 360 process. Pretty much the same, draw lines and trim.

But I am trying to learn Solid Edge and would like to know how to turn off snaps so the end of the line doesn't snap to a node. I already am proficient with Design Edge, Inkscape, Corel Draw, Fusion 360, etc. but am just checking out Solid Edge to see exactly what capabilities it offers as related to creating/editing files. In this case, this is a file another member had asked for help with and I showed him how to do it with Inkscape. He was already using Solid Edge so I thought I would see if this is something he could do with a program he was already using.

Apologies everyone
Newbie to Solid edge.
I have created a sketch (only) and would like to export to .dxf
However, I suspect I need make the sketch into parts before I can export, as "Save Flat" is greyed out.
Is anyone willing able to gimme a few tips, please.

Can you give more info on your process?
Starting in part, sheetmetal or draft?
Are you extruding the sketch?
Which version of SE are you using?
