How to add gear reduction into Mach 3

Post by AZ_guy »

I’m adding a gear reduction to my table. The reduction is 2.73:1, How do I add that into Mach 3? Currently my setup is direct drive from the motors to the rack. Do I just multiply the steps per inch in the settings or is there another/ better way? Thanks

I have always used the auto calculate method in Mach on the settings page, there are amy videos on YouTube showing how to do it, or use the search function in the upper right.

So it takes the reduction into consideration for the auto calculate? Ok I’ll try and look up a video also
