Rotating an Entire Nest

Post by Ironken »

I have jobs saved in Sheetcam that are 4x4 sheets nested with several different parts that have been duplicated or arrayed. I would like to rotate the entire sheet of nested parts in one action but all I know how to do is one part at a time. I have about a dozen different nests saved and this is far too time consuming.

Is there a way to rotate the entire sheet of parts?

Some parts have long cuts that occasionally line up with the slats and cause cut issues thus, I want to rotate the entire sheet 90 deg to reduce the issue.

Any ideas?

You could probably accomplish this by editing your post processor and swapping the x and y moves.

In nesting mode use your mouse to drag a box over all of the parts. That selects all parts. Now use the < and > keys to rotate the group. You can also drag the group around if you need to reposition them.

Thank you Les. I always selected with the box and entered the degrees making only the original part rotate. Ill try the arrows.

I'll have to remember that. I didn't know you could select multiple parts at once.

If you hold the <ctrl> key and click on multiple parts you can select them that way as well. Useful if you want to only move/rotate a few parts.
