Pause at end of cut and pierce delay issue

Post by maacmetal »

So.... Im running a home made table with a pokeys57cnc board and PlasmaSens THC. Mach3 and Sheetcam. Im having trouble with narrow cuts with the lead-in and out leaving a wide pierce hole near the edge of the line. Also when cutting on a line (No Lead- in or out) it leaves a full hole at start and stop of cut. Is there anyway to shut the torch off just before it stops the cut? I have all my delays at end of cut set to 0.0 and my pierce delay at 0.0.

That's strange with delays set to 0.0, I have no idea how to resolve that...will Sheetcam take negative delay values LOL

Is there a way to add a cut rule where the torch shuts off x.xx before end of cut? does anyone know how to write a code for this

Hopefully Les will chime in here with the answer. Or for a quicker response maybe post on the SheetCam forum.

sheetcam path rules can shut the cut off early or later (overburn)

but... that is not your problem....

your problem is that M5 is a non synchronous miscellaneous code, so the axis must slow to a slip before implementing M5 to turn off the torch.... shutting the torch of early will just move the divot.

welcome to the world of divot chasing.... you need to increase your acceleration imo to about 0.3g (116in/s/s or 3000mm/s/s). it is possible to use M11/M10 in mach3 .... sometimes.... it depends on your motion controller as that is a synchronous m-code for laser on and off

Thank you for the reply. so I've been running the table a lot trying to find where the problem is. I stated to notice this problem right after i set up the machine with the new Pokeys57cnc Break out board and plasmasens THC. i was thinking about trying to switch over to the MACH4 .
