Pierce delay not always working.

Post by Jason@bc »

I have been having issues with the pierce delay on my cnc table, I am running linux with command cnc, it looks like the pierce delay only works on the first part being cut, the other parts on that same job it doesn't work, any suggestions?

I'd look at the G-code first to see if the delay is being set on each pierce. If not, then I'd look at the Sheetcam post processor. What post processor are you using?

That would be my thought as well. Check your g-code to see if a dwell is being inserted in only the first pierce. If so, then either modify your post processor, get a different post processor, or insert by hand for each pierce.

If you determine the post processor is not working correctly send a note to Les at SheetCam. If it a bug he will correct it, this is why he has the auto updates function when you start SheetCam each time.

Les is usually pretty good at getting right back to you. In addition to emails, I would recommend creating an new post at the Sheetcam forum.
