Just a quick test of the shark. These are a couple of Rugby League teams here in Australia

It's coming along. What cut speed and cut height are you using?

Looking good but you can likely improve that edge quality a lot. I suspect your motion isn't smooth or your THC is oscillating up and down slightly. If you do a similar cut with the THC off does your cut edge smooth out?

I was thinking the same thing - that is why I posted the close-up photo showing those wavy edges.

Okay so I swapped the torch mounting plate around and it seems that have been the issue. I will do some cutting tomorrow and get pics. I did run the shark again and it came out better. I've also slowed the feed a touch

Another thing you could try is attaching a ink pen to your torch to see if your moving section needs a tune up. The fine tip on the pen will show more detail. Paper is cheaper than metal.

Great idea Tom! Another good use for a 3D printer. Lots of fun to be had here!

Nice work it great when you can find how to correct a problem, more knowledge of the working of your table.

Thanks David here is a newer version being used by TJ to check a file before cutting.

Tom - thanks for sharing that! That is a nice design using the spring to apply pressure to the pen. Much better than mine that depends on gravity to keep the tip of the sharpie in contact with the paper.

Thanks I use the same design for a metal scribe to mark metal, it is a little more sturdy for marking with a diamond tip.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/14hig0J ... sp=sharing
newer design to mount directly on the torch.

Are you selling these? I tried using a sharpie taped to my torch head once. :HaHa
I was trying to make a bumper for a 1st gen tachoma from a later model dxf. I tried cardboard (giant fail) and then hardboard panel (.175x 4x8) so I could see what i needed to change to make it fit my truck. It didn't make it thru the first pattern.

I made a few more adjustments to the z axis and was happy in 2mm so I stepped up to 5mm.
