horse hanger

Post by Jason@bc »

I'm looking for this drawing dxf, I'm sure I've seen it on here somewhere but I've searched for a while now but can't find it, wondering if it's been removed or was never on here?

Have you looked on Esty for DXF files, I don't think Plasma Spider removes files unless the OP does it or it is copyrighted.

Here is a quick Inkscape auto trace of your photo. You can use as it or clean it up as you choose.

Jason - you are most welcome! It took me several minutes to produce the above result. I have documented my process for you below, which took me over an hour to do (the documentation, that is). I use a combination of Paint.net, Inkscape, and Design Edge - in that order. I would not normally do any editing in Inkscape - other than the "trace bitmap" function to convert the jpeg to vector format. I showed a little bit of node editing in Inkscape below, but for me I can do things much, much faster with Design Edge. But since Design Edge is not readily available to most folks due to the cost of the program, I expect you will use which ever vector editing software you have. Let me know if you have any questions about my process.

The final step in Paint.net is to save file as jpeg.

I saved as DXF here since the next step for me would be to import to Design Edge for editing. But
since you probably don't have Design Edge, I show a little bit of node editing in the next few screen shots.
I then finish up my editing using Design Edge.

There is no "step 4". I mistakenly jumped from step 3 to step 5. But in Paint.net step 4 would be to save file as jpeg. It will then be imported to Inkscape for the next part of the process.

Jason - you are very welcome! I also posted a link under the "Inkscape" section of this site to make it easier for others to find in the future.
