Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Here is one that is similar. You can edit to add the circle, etc.

This could be tuned up to be a nice cut file.

Thank you David, I like that quick trace I've got to figure out how to get it to my inkscape so I can play with it..that one for sale looks good also with some tweaking. Thank you for the help trying to learn to do this myself as I am just beginning.

Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Here is my process for turning an image like the one you provided into a cut ready file. If I import an image like yours to Inkscape and do an initial auto trace and am not happy with the result due to the lower image resolution, I normally do a Google image search to see if I can find the same image at a higher resolution. This was the case with the image you provided.mownelly wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 5:35 pm Thank you David, I like that quick trace I've got to figure out how to get it to my inkscape so I can play with it..that one for sale looks good also with some tweaking. Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Here is another option creating it from scratch using different shapes (circles, rectangles), text, and a little bit of manual tracing using the Bezier Draw tool. This is the method I would use personally if I had to create a nice cut file from the supplied image. I just learned some of this from an excellent Inkscape tutorial that Mo provided a few days ago in the Inkscape section of this forum.

Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Mownelly - I have provided some instruction above showing several different methods to create a cut file from the original supplied image. Since you are learning Inkscape, you could try to follow some of the steps and show us how far you get and let us know if you run into any problems. I think you will learn more by trying to do it yourself than having someone simply hand you the file. I'm sure there might be others willing to just post a finished file, but doing it on your own will be better in the long run if you intend to continue along this path.mownelly wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 5:35 pm Thank you David, I like that quick trace I've got to figure out how to get it to my inkscape so I can play with it..that one for sale looks good also with some tweaking. Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Mownellly - As I originally suggested, you can purchase a very similar dxf file for $2 and make some very simple modifications to get it closer to the one your friend showed you. These are simply techniques which can be used for creating/editing any file to suite your taste. If your goal is to learn to use Inkscape to do these things for yourself, then I would recommend practicing these techniques and asking any questions as they come up. If you only need the finished produce and don't wish to do it yourself, then by all means either purchase a cut ready file or a finished product as has been discussed.mownelly wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 5:35 pm Thank you David, I like that quick trace I've got to figure out how to get it to my inkscape so I can play with it..that one for sale looks good also with some tweaking. Re: Needed: anchor welcome sign
Chris - I have never used them before. But I do expect that for the 2 bucks they will deliver you the file. Let me know if you are hesitant and I will go ahead and purchase it myself.mownelly wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:12 pm I was thinking this is the route I was going to try got to start somewhere have you used designifier much?
