I'm also a little confused on the color change throughout the led's. How are you changing them in different areas? Are you cutting the strip and crossing wires?

One look and my wife said that she wanted one so I just powder coated it and didn't worry about the lights, she loves it.

Thank you for the share, it cut great.

DWalls,

I started powder coating a few months ago and so far, even being a novice, I feel that my results are pretty good. However, I've only tackled single color jobs. Could you offer any tips on how you did this piece utilizing 3 different colors? It looks really nice. I was considering powder coating the entire piece black and then painting the orange words and the white ghost with spray paint. Not sure how well the spray paint would stick to the powder coat under it though.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Never powder coated, but my guess would be to do it similar to how you would paint it. Powder and bake one color, then mask and powder successive colors.
I'm not sure how layering powder works. If you should do the whole thing in a base color and then layer the other colors. That's how I paint so I don't have bare spots where the colors meet.

I have done allot of the yeti cups, some with 2 and some with 3 colors on them. On this item I sprayed the orange on the words then sprayed the white on the ghost and pointed the gun in the opposite direction so that I wouldn't get the colors mixed. I then used my small vacuum with a small brush to go over and pick up any of the overspray that was on the large part. I then baked it for about 60 to 75% of the cook time of that powder, let it cool then taped it off with blue painters tape and sprayed the large part black. I then put it in the oven for about 1 to 1.5 minutes then took it out and peeled the tape off and cleaned off the glue residue from the tape, if you cook it full time with the tape on it then it is harder to get off, then cooked it to time called for which was 20 minutes.
I learned allot about powder coating from Mancrafting on youtube he did allot of powder coating on the Yeti tumblers and you can use all of the same techniques on the steel that we cut now.

Hope this helps.
