Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
I tried these photos in Imaengine and figured they need to be manually traced by someone.....I don't have the time. My mother was confined to a wheelchair for 14 years and now she doesn't need one! This would look cool as a layered piece and maybe even personalize it.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
My own son left paraplegic after an auto accident a couple years ago I also find this one deeply touching and emotionally stirring. Haven't seen this file around so here's my take, scaled to 30". Hope someone gets use. Thanks to Mr. Hanks for providing the pic I went by as I could never have done it from the one in the original post.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
Ben, I stole part of your file and made one for my daughter. We lost a son (grandson) that was older then the one in your post so I changed that part and cut it a little different. As I am not much of an artist so I used a body from one of Sign Torch's files. I can not post the DXF because he sells his files, but if someone buys the file from him they can put it together if they want.

Steal away Larry! I thought about doing the same as my son is 25 now...but you beat me to it. Looks great Larry. Look out though...people see this and will start referring to you as an "Artist". And so sorry for your loss. A very hard road for all involved.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
Ours was 22 when he passed. As for being an "artist" nobody will ever think that, I'm just good at sticking other peoples art together.ben de lappe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 1:38 pm Steal away Larry! If you would like the file I could send it, I'm sure Gary wouldn't mind, I'll ask if you want.
I sure wish someday I could draw files half as good as yours.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
Thank God Jon's still with us.
No need to send the file...already stole it. Of course just kidding there...but if I did have one cut it'd be personalized so still no need though I thank you kindly for the offer.
Concerning the cad drawing you mention. I have no earthly idea why anyone would ever choose to mess up files the way I do but I'll be more than happy to tell you everything I know. Been trying for ages it seems to round up enough time to put a couple of vids on youtube demonstrating exactly how I screw 'em up the way I do. Just can't get the time. Maybe a call is in order...PM inbound.

PM received, bounced one back! Not sure if my file would have helped as I did mine in 3-D, but you could tryben de lappe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 5:37 pm Thank God Jon's still with us.

Glad to hear that your boy is still here, hope he gets better (sending my prayers). About making videos have fun, I could NEVER do that. I taught a few people over the years to run CNC mills and lathes and standing next to a person doing a hands on I still had a problem trying to show each step of what I did to make the CNC do what I wanted it to do, I can not imagine doing it with no one there.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
I've only dabbled with drawing in 3-D. Suffice it to say I'll stick with the 2-D plasma files thank you very much. Though I honestly wish I had some of your experience/training in that department, sure you could teach me a lot. Bob-Cad/Rhino what I had and loathed every minute of it. Actually attended the Bob-Cad class in Louisville at the time, came out with more questions than I went in with. Not sure that's a good thing. I've taught many people to weld. SMAW, GTAW, GTAW including the Mrs. And it's always been one on one and in person. However I feel I could handle a video as acourtjester and others have provided me with much information, just need time to get all in order. Whether or not anyone actually learns something is a different story.Larry83301 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 8:16 pmPM received, bounced one back! Thank you for the prayers, so needed and welcomed right now. Haven't said anything to anyone but last two months have been really rough on him/us as he's been hospitalized twice during this time period requiring two transfusions totaling 5 units of blood. Bad as it sounds we're making progress and ever so slowly things are looking up. My family and I thank you along with everyone else for the prayers and support received.
As always a pleasure working with you over the years and I thank you for trusting me with your more "difficult" files. Truly an honor.

Re: No wheelchairs needed in heaven
Ben, I'm not sure I could teach you much I learned most of what I know by beating on the keys and hoping things would work. I got to go to several classes on programming CNC machines so I understand what the NC files are saying which made the CAD programs much easier to work with. Over the years I played in many graphic programs and learned how to make them do what I wanted, now you can find a program that will do most everything I did by hand and faster, that's the problem with getting old, everything I learned is " just so old fashioned " and the youngsters can do most of it with a few clicks of a mouse, without any idea of the stuff behind the curtain.
Glad to hear that things are looking up for your son and some progress is being made, hope things keep getting better.

Same way I learned though more akin to banging my head into the cad screen. To me one of the best aspects of this site is the wide range of experience available and on tap. Many of which are old school like you with more knowledge in cad than I'll ever have.
Thanks Larry I appreciate you.

I cut this out and will post a few pics when it's back from powdercoating, they chose a granite grey.
I think the customer will be very happy, I have no connection to the family but the image pulls at the old heart strings.
Thanks again Ben.
